The five-year-old Shih Tzu is the proud owner of a Bentley, a Ferrari, a Porsche and a Beemer and he likes nothing more than to cruise around the streets of New York with the top down.
Luigi’s car collection costs a whopping $1,500 but owner Anisha Lakhani is more than happy to splash the cash on her beloved pet.
Anisha, from New York, said: “I’m going to go bold and I’m going to say that Luigi Maestro has the largest car collection in the United States and possibly out of any dog on planet Earth.
“Humans can walk too so why do we have cars? We like traveling in style and so do dogs too.
“The pavement gets extremely hot in the summer. I was noticing when I was walking him that he was lifting his paws up and I could tell that it was hurting him.
“I started with the BMW then there was a piece of me that was like let’s see what the Ferrari is like - it becomes an addiction.”
As well as his impressive car collection Luigi also has pricy designer wardrobe full of canine fashion.
She said: “His whole posture changes when he puts on a little outfit. He swaggers on the street- he enjoys it.
“I don’t think I’m spoiling him. I think I’m making him better - so I think I’m ameliorating Luigi’s life.
“I thought I’d get some people rolling their eyes but I couldn’t have anticipated the warmth of New Yorkers. People love him.”
Now Anisha plans to add a Lamborghini to the collection as a Christmas present to Luigi.
She added: “Luigi has a mom who just loves the heck out of him every single hour of every single day - his happiness is my priority.
“Luigi is my heart. I look at him and I just feel so happy. I adore him. I love him like a child.”
